myArc

myArc,
forever yours.

An open-source browser project bringing back Arc's browsing experience, with a local workspace and optional AI.

Your Spaces and pinned tabs are part of how you work. They should outlast the company behind your browser.

Arc is being sunsetted. We're building myArc so the sidebar, Spaces, keyboard commands, Peek, Split View and Boosts keep working, with a setup you can export and browsing that doesn't hinge on a subscription.

What we hold to

  • Yours to keep

Keep workspace data local and exportable. Everyday browsing should work without an account.

  • Keep what worked

Carry forward Arc's Spaces, pinned tabs and keyboard workflow. Teach the differences through onboarding.

  • AI by choice

Keep AI off by default. Choose local models, your own API key or optional hosted access, with explicit control over what they can see.

  • Built in the open

Code, plans and decisions are public, so the project can continue beyond any one team.

What we're building

A native desktop browser on Chromium's complete browser layer, with a Rust core that owns the workspace, import, storage and commands. Chromium's engine and extension support stay as they are.

Now
A pinned Chromium foundation experiment and an onboarding motion study running on synthetic data. The browser itself, the importer and native onboarding are still ahead.
Next
An Arc preservation tool that keeps your workspace safe, then a desktop alpha.
For launch
CLI and MCP control over the same commands as the UI. Ad and tracker blocking on by default, with per-site controls. Boosts for appearance, CSS and element hiding.
